It was too good to last
A week or so ago I commented on how I had had a positive experience contacting the people at the DWP who were dealing with my move from ESA to UC.
Well that all came crashing down this week when I called for a little clarification and got to speak to perhaps one of the most obnoxious women I think I have ever spoken to. Short tempered, nasty and just out right aggressive from the start of the call to the end.
The DWP and many other organisations (NHS take note) constantly tell you that they do not tolerate abuse from callers towards their staff and I don’t have any problem with that. I’ve worked on helpdesks and in call centres and I personally know what caller abuse feels like so I never start out on a call with the intension to be unpleasant.
But when you are greeted with abuse from the very start from the person who is supposed to me a “professional” it’s hard not to be short and curt back.
