New red light night mode in the shack

I always like to keep my shack/desk evolving and this week I kind of accidentally added a new LED desk light. I bought the light to function as a back light for when I’m recording YouTube videos to light the wall up behind me. But once it arrived and I took a good hands on look at it I realised that it would be perfect to light down onto my desktop. And as an added bonus it’s multi-coloured and remote controlled.

Once mounted, it lights my desk and equipment perfectly. It looks great in red for night working and if I need to do any work at my desk I can swich it to white quickly and turn up the brightness at the same time.

The only thing I needed to modify is the addition of a visor on the front because with the light at the level and angle it needs to be at, I’m looking directly into the light it’s self.

For now I’ve used a length of black cardboard but I’m not 100% happy with the way that looks so hopefully today a proper strip of black plastic will arrive which can be cut to length and once fitted should look a lot more OEM than the cardboard strip.
