This is what happens when you let hate of any kind flourish

This is Charlie Kirk, a promoter of far/extreme right wing american political views. I will even go so far as to say he is a promoter of hate speech and a hater of LBGT+ communities. It’s fair to say I really don’t like him and what he says or how he says it.

But I also don’t like the news this morning that he has been gunned down and murdered in what seems to be a shameful move to silence him and maybe send out a message of hate to other right wing speakers.

By doing this, the murderer is as bad if not worst than what they are fighting against. And I have no doubt that they should be subject to the fullest impact of the law. Nothing can justify murder like this.

I’m reminded of the writing by Evelyn Beatrice Hall in her book “The Life of Voltaire”

I disapprove of what you say,
but I will defend to the death your right to say it

Another day where we wake up to the devastation of hate.
