Nottingham by the sea (also known as Skegness)

I was feeling a little “boxed in“ last night so I decided to take a nice evening drive out to the east coast which, in other words means a trip to Skegness.

The drive out is as boring as ever with Lincolnshire basically being flat farm land with absolutely nothing to see! Once at Skegness I parked up, had a coffee and sat just taking in some of the sights, sounds and smells of the place and I have to admit, it was so lovely.

The sights - Lights, people, old building that have been there since the beginning of time along side new buildings showing that Skegness still has some life in it’s future.

The sounds - Banging “funfair” music, slot machines and arcades, bingo callers, people talking and shouting, cars flying past and just the amazing hustle and bustle of a busy seafront road.

Smells - a mix of diesel and petrol fumes, fast food and street food stalls, sea air, chip shops and people!

All these things combine into something that is unique to British seaside life and I absolutely LOVE everything about it.
