More eye injections for 2026

I had my last round of eye injections in October 2025 and thought for a time that it had finally fixed the macula oedema. At the end of November I had a follow-up appointment and at that time it was all looking ok and I didn’t need any further treatment.

Last week I was back at the eye department for another round of tests and scans and while I hoped things would be ok, I really knew that things were starting to worsen again.

So it was no surprise that I I have had a telephone call from the hospital today asking me to go back next week and start another 4 rounds of injections into both eyes again.

While the treatment is VERY painful and everything about having to go to the hospital is so difficult for me, my eyesight the next day quite amazing. And as long as the hospital is willing to do the injections and as long as they continue to work I will keep having them.
