Hello to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3

Last year when I decided that I was finally ready to face the camera and start Video Blogging via YouTube it was a bit of a gamble that once I got the kit in place I would actually have the confidence to hit record and that would have meant any money spent on equipment would have been wasted.

Taking that into account I opted to start off using the DJI Action5 camera instead of the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. The Pocket 3 was by far the better blogging camera but it was also twice the cost of the Action 5.

I’m glad to say that I have found the confidence to pick hit that record button and I an really enjoying making and posting video blogs. So, last week I took the decision to order the Pocket 3 which arrived at the weekend and is now sitting ready to make it’s first blog.

First impressions of the Pocket 3 are very impressive. I love the larger image sensor (1”) and the tighter lens (20mm) which gives a very nice looking blurred background and therefore great separation between subject and background.

Both cameras are quite simple to use but the Pocket 3 is more complicated in that it can do far more and that extra functionality needs to be understood and considered when setting up to record.

The Action 5 will still be used so for now I’ll hang onto it but there is no question that the pocket 3 is now my primary camera.
